🌼 Newborn Baby Care Tips
-
Keep the Baby Warm and Clean
Newborns can’t regulate their body temperature well. Dress your baby in layers and keep them dry and cozy. Bathe your baby 2–3 times a week with lukewarm water. -
Feeding on Demand
Whether breastfeeding or formula feeding, feed your baby every 2–3 hours or when they show signs of hunger. Breast milk provides ideal nutrition and boosts immunity. -
Umbilical Cord Care
Keep the stump dry and clean. It usually falls off within 1–2 weeks. Avoid covering it with diapers or dressing it unless instructed by a doctor. -
Sleep Safety
Always place your baby on their back to sleep. Use a firm mattress and avoid pillows or soft toys in the crib to reduce the risk of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). -
Burping and Colic Care
After each feeding, gently burp your baby to release trapped air. If your baby seems fussy or has gas, tummy massages and gentle rocking can help.
🤱 Mother’s Health Care Tips
-
Rest and Sleep
Sleep when the baby sleeps. Try to get at least 6–8 hours of rest in total, even if broken up. Fatigue can lead to stress and affect milk production. -
Healthy Eating
Eat a balanced diet rich in protein, iron, calcium, and fiber. Stay hydrated, especially if you’re breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol, smoking, and too much caffeine. -
Postnatal Checkups
Visit your doctor within 6 weeks after delivery to monitor recovery. Seek help for pain, bleeding, or emotional changes like baby blues or postpartum depression. -
Pelvic and Body Recovery
Do light exercises like walking or pelvic floor workouts (Kegels) after a doctor’s approval to regain strength and heal faster. -
Emotional Well-being
It's normal to feel overwhelmed. Talk to your partner, family, or a professional counselor. Accept help and take breaks to care for your mental health.
