🦞 Cajun Honey Lobster Tails Recipe
Servings: 2
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 12–15 minutes
🧂 Ingredients:
-
2 lobster tails (5–6 oz each)
-
3 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
-
2 tbsp honey
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
-
2 cloves garlic (minced)
-
1 tsp smoked paprika (optional for extra depth)
-
½ tsp lemon juice
-
Salt, to taste
-
Chopped parsley, for garnish
-
Lemon wedges, for serving
🔪 Instructions:
-
Prep the Lobster Tails:
-
Use kitchen shears to cut down the middle of the top shell of each lobster tail.
-
Gently pull the meat upward, out of the shell, and rest it on top of the shell (but still attached at the base).
-
Pat the lobster meat dry with paper towels.
-
-
Make the Cajun Honey Butter:
-
In a bowl, mix the melted butter, honey, olive oil, minced garlic, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika (if using), lemon juice, and a pinch of salt.
-
Taste and adjust seasoning—add more Cajun spice for heat or honey for sweetness.
-
-
Brush and Marinate:
-
Brush the lobster meat generously with the Cajun honey butter.
-
Let sit for 10–15 minutes (optional but recommended for deeper flavor).
-
-
Cooking Options:
Option A: Oven Broil (preferred for caramelization)
-
Preheat broiler to high.
-
Place lobster tails on a baking sheet lined with foil.
-
Broil 6–8 inches from heat for about 8–12 minutes, basting halfway through with more Cajun honey butter. Lobster is done when opaque and lightly charred on the edges.
Option B: Grill
-
Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
-
Place lobster tails shell-side down. Grill for 5–6 minutes, basting with sauce.
-
Flip and cook meat-side down for 1–2 minutes to char the top slightly.
-
-
Serve:
-
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
-
Drizzle remaining Cajun honey butter on top if desired.
-
🔥 Tips:
-
Use fresh lobster tails if possible for best flavor.
-
You can also add a pinch of cayenne if you like it spicier.
